5 Quick Tips to Spring Clean Your Smile

5 Quick Tips to Spring Clean Your Smile

Are you looking to refresh your spring cleaning checklist?

Have you considered adding your oral hygiene routine to the list?

Are you ready to improve your oral health and boost your confidence?

Let’s get started! As your trusted dentists, we have some quick tips to help you spring-clean your smile!

Tip #1 – Replace your toothbrush

Did you know that you should replace your toothbrush?

  • Every 3-4 months
  • After you’ve been sick
  • When the bristles are worn or frayed

Changing your dental brush also applies to changing your electric toothbrush heads. Spring is the perfect time to take a toothbrush inventory.

Tip #2 – Check the expiration dates

Did you know that toothpaste and mouthwash have expiration dates?

As you’re doing your spring cleaning, it’s a great time to check and toss any out-of-date oral hygiene products.

We always give you a new supply when you come for your regular cleaning appointments.

Schedule your dental cleaning now and give your smile the spring cleaning it deserves!

Tip #3 – Clean your retainer/nightguard/clear aligner cases

Brushing our retainers, nightguards for teeth grinding (bruxism), and clear aligners should be part of your daily routine.

However, the cases these sit in are often neglected and can collect bacteria and grime.

Spring cleaning is perfect for soaking and scrubbing your cases to clear debris and bacteria.

If you’ve been sick, it’s always a good idea to try and remember to scrub your retainers, guards, and cases right away to avoid getting sick again.

Tip #4 – Dentures check-up

Great people deserve great smiles, and dentures provide a great option!

Although we should soak and brush them daily with a soft-bristled brush and nonabrasive denture cleanser, we should also check them periodically to ensure they function properly.

We can professionally clean your dentures and check them for any damage.

If you are having any troubles with your dentures (fit, functionality), this is also a great time to address these issues.

Tip #5 – Schedule a professional dental cleaning

Your dental health is a very important component of your overall health.

Regular dental exams help rid your mouth of plaque that brushing and flossing can’t remove.

Professional cleaning also helps keep cavities at bay and prevent costly repairs that could go unnoticed without check-ups.

Schedule your dental cleaning here.

While we don’t want to add to your spring cleaning list of things to do, a spring cleaning for your smile should be a gift to yourself.

A healthy smile builds confidence and makes you feel great.
